Michelle-Aim?e is interested in the condemnation of human beings to imperfection and suffering, the body they are sentenced to and the pride that forces them to aim certain desires, as flies to a bulb of light. Her work is theatrical and absurd, inspired by old biblical and mythological stories, which she translates to present day life. It designates what is typical in our culture. Her conceptual photo?s and short films are rich and full. It doesn?t act purely cerebral, but you can feel it: physically and emotional.
Next to her work as a photographer she also works as a doctor. Photography and medicine are equally important to her, because both are all about human beings. And they inspire her every day.
