At first the girls are weary of this presence watching, but then allow it observe them. The rituals they perform, and the small world that is created within the house, are a mixture of concepts based around earthly magic. The film is not set in a definite period or place and creates the sense that there is an unexplained, mystical value behind the jewellery, but not in a light fairy tale way. It combines a bright and soft appearance with an ominous, offset undertone.
