A lecture for VGIK's students
Today, on the 9th of November, at 1 P.M. a lecture for students of producing faculty in VGIK university will be performed by Ivan Lopatin — the general producer of «The World Of The Festivals» and «Leevandia Entertainment» companies.
Ivan will tell the students about the details of work with film festivals and share a big experience in his career.
The students will learn about the main clasifications of festivals: Oscar, FIAPF, EAF; they will also be told about awards and Russian festivals.
What is the right way to prepare for a pitching and to collect all the documents for a festival? What should be taken on the trip for a festival to make sure it will be useful? What are the main tendencies on Russian and international market now?
Ivan will answer all of the questions and tell where the story of festivals started. Using an example of an award winner of the Cannes Film Festival 2017, “Under The Sun” (by Czu Yang), Ivan will explain which films are claimed for festivals. Separately some educational programs – such as Berlinale Talent Campus and Producer Network in Cannes – will be discussed.
