Since early childhood Avshin has wanted to dance. But in Iran – a country with a strict low and cruel regime – it is forbidden.

Despising the law and the risk to end up in jail Avshin – a university student back there - hacks YouTube and imitating Michael Jackson, Pina Bausch, Gene Kelly, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Barishnikov learnt how to dance.

Richard Raymond himself tells about his film:

“When I discovered the story for the first time I immediately felt I needed to tell it. This story provokes people for uniting and reminds us of finding tenacity and strength for fighting for what’s right. All of us must have equal rights and freedom, no matter where we were born. And the most important things is that we all must have an opportunity to make our dreams come true.”

The work on the film has been continuing for several years. A big international team of professionals took part in it. For example, a world known choreographer Akram Khan who made dancing parts on Olympic games in London in 2012.

Leading parts took such actors as Reece Ritchie (Hercules, The Lovely Bones, Prince Of Persia), Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) and Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey, Weekend).
