The film “Away” is on MIFF

In 2012 within the 34th Moscow International Film Festival the first edition of a short film program took place. We selected 20 the most interesting films from the more than 700 submissions that were sent from different countries all over the world.

The film “Away” by Anna Sarukhanova was also selected for the main competition and it was the only film representing Russia.

A poetic film-parable “Away” is about difficulties of mature, leaving the comfort zone. The main character’s received an invitation to work abroad and for that he has to leave his home town, his family and friends. He has to make a choice: is it worth leaving his beloved for the great unknown?

The film “Away” was shot in Tbilisi, a hometown of the director. It is a very personal story that can awake an echo in everyone’s heart.
